Make a pilgrimage through our great urban wilderness in the Santa Monicas. We depart from a lush little canyon to a high perch to witness the sun set and the moon rise. From this viewpoint, we can see the San Gabriel Mountains as well–on a clear day–the ocean.
On our way, we’ll stop to meet a few favorite native plants such as Rabbit Tobacco, California Buckwheat and Black Sage.
Because the full moon is illuminated when the moon is opposite the sun, the (almost!) full moon appears as it rises towards the east with the sun setting in the west (or, so it appears from our vantage!)
